Amir Gissin - CV

Amir Gissin was born in Israel in 1963. He became Israel’s Consul General in Toronto and Western Canada in August 2007, a position he held for 5 years. Upon returning to Israel in August 2012, he founded Circleaders Ltd – a company focused on helping companies go global.


Mr. Gissin also served as Director of the Public Affairs Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he coordinated Israel’s public diplomacy strategy. During that period he co-initiated and led Israel’s Branding Project through its initial stages.


Other key governmental positions previously held by Mr. Gissin include Chief of Staff to the Minister for Diaspora Affairs, and Assistant to the Prime Minister’s Foreign Policy Adviser. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Spokesman in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


Earlier international postings include  the Israeli Embassy in New Zealand (1995-1997) and the Embassy in Denmark (1992-1995).


Mr. Gissin has held several positions within the Israeli NGO and philanthropic arena during a leave from governmental service.  These include Director General of the “Mosaica” Research Center for Religion, State and Society; and Director General of the “Shalom Beinenu” Foundation.


Mr. Gissin graduated in 1990 from Tel Aviv University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He is married and has two sons.
